Itâs funny how the world can change in 30 years. Much knowledge becomes outdated, yet âthe basicsâ remain useful. I remember my High School typing class. The teacher was a no-nonsense drill sergeant of an older lady, who could instill fear into the hearts of her students. Her mission was to teach not just the mechanics of typing, but to instill in her students a sense of price in their work and themselves. She always told us that typing was âa GOOD skill, not a HALF-BAKED skillâ. We were required to learn the keyboard through âtouchâ and if she caught anyone looking at their fingers, they were held up for ridicule in front of the whole class.
